Cherished by Chinese royals as prized house pets for over a thousand years, the Shih Tzu is believed to have descended from crossing the Lhasa Apso or Tibetan mountain dog and Pekingese. The Shih Tzu was the house pet for most of the Ming Dynasty and was discovered by soldiers in England during World War II.

​The weight of an original sized Shih Tzu usually ranges between 9 and 16 pounds. But smaller versions of the Shih Tzu, preferrably between 4 and 8 pounds, not taller than 9 inches and bred from the standard sized Shih Tzu (no crossbreds) have become increasingly popular. We personally prefer our Shih Tzus in sizes between 5 and 10 pounds and sell the imperial sized Shih Tzu between 5 and 8 pounds as well as the standard sized ones but on a smaller scale between 9 and 11 pounds, not bigger.

We also prefer our dogs with a bit of a shorter back and nose, babydoll face and sweet expression and last but not least very loving and affectionate personalities. They make great pets for apartments and smaller houses and backyards.​

Also our dogs aren't big yappers, if properyly trained you won't have to worry that your little one will continously bark while out of the house and drive your neighbors crazy.

 

Once you own one of these cuddlebugs you wonder how you ever lived without one before, they are pretty addictive :)
